Shotguns - what do you reach for and why

If you like the Montefeltro, try a Retay Gordion. I’ve had both. Nearly identical, but I actually like the Gordion more. Only think I like more on the Montefeltro is the safety.

Shotguns - what do you reach for and why

Check out Beretta Pintail/ES100. Had one. Great gun and essentially Gen 1 SBE. Can find reasonably cheap.

Shotguns - what do you reach for and why

It’s what my Dad has always carried. I have 8 brothers and only one (youngest) was bold enough to ask to inherit it. I’ve been on the hunt for one for a while, but not easy to find one in decent condition at a fair price. I found one online marked as a Winchester 37. To my knowledge...

Shotguns - what do you reach for and why

I’ve usually stuck with a single semi-auto in 12 gauge with 26 inch barrel for everything. They are just so versatile and a workhorse. I had a Beretta Pintail which was a fantastic shotgun. It’s essentially first gen HK SBE1. Sold it to my brother, might have to buy it back. Switched to a...

Rehashing an old Model 70 debate

I have a modern model 70 featherweight and it is a fantastic rifle. The action is like glass and never malfunctions. Shoots incredible. Trigger is a little heavy, but crisp. I don’t have a pre 64 model 70 to compare, but don’t know how it could get much better, aside from stock work if it’s...

    Best gun deal?

Thank God for big corporations that sell guns and have minimum wage workers that know little about guns selling them 😂

What’s the one place everyone should visit before they die?

I’ve been a few times. Worth it even with the crowd. Other less crowded places totally worth it too. The country is unreal

What’s the one place everyone should visit before they die?

My wife is from Lima. I’ve been to Peru several times, all over the country on small planes, trains, busses. So much breathtaking scenery, it’s unreal. Rainbow mountain, high glacier lakes, buggies and sunset over sand dunes at Huacachina, cliffs at Paracas, wineries in Ica, rainforest...

Your best (or worst) fishing trip story.

I was diving the Vandenburg in Key West. Current was strong and I was holding onto an anchor buoy while waiting for pelagics. I saw a pair of Amberjack swimming in with a shark. I made my descent to intercept them, and had to make a little extra push to close the distance. I sent a Hail Mary...
