Rendezvous Cool? Or more like Rendez-lame?

The original 1838 Rendezvous site is very close to where I live, every July they hold a Rendezvous at the site. I don't actively participate, just visit. I do own a very high quality custom built 58cal Hawken flint lock, my goal is to kill an elk with it one of these days. I have also trapped...

    Prepper Cabin Movies

Good topic I have a solid state hard drive with around 600 movies on it for such an occasion. I have a friend that bought a DVD burner and our friend group shared all of our DVD collections with him. He burned them all into digital and loaded them onto hard drives for us. I bought a 5TB hard...

    Shoulder vs European

I have a dozen shoulder mounts, which is about 6 too many right now... I'll probably cut the skull caps off a couple of the whitetail shoulder mounts and do leather covered horn mounts on them to take up less space. Going forward I'm only mounting a few more epic species that will most likely...

Why are you guys not buying bipods?

I never use a bipod hunting, vegetarian is normally to tall. Most my rifles have an arca rail so I can just clip into my tripod ball head if I need support. I do use an Atlas bipod on the range but thats really it.

Shotguns - what do you reach for and why

I gravitate towards this between the wars London best gun built on a 7 pin Holland & Holland sidelock action, it feels like a magic wand in my hands. If I'm in a duck blind it's my Beretta ES100 that accompanies me.

    Breaking from Camo

FE Instagram account addresses it a few days ago. To summarize, the buy out was a great move, purchased by a group of hunters/conservationists. Maybe @Jason Vincent can add more details.

    Wyoming Elk Rig

I highly recommend sticking with a 300, especially if you're doing a backcountry hunt on horseback which means you'll be deep in bear country. My go to elk rifles are 300winmag and 338winmag.

    I'm bringing back the .40

Deep penetration is what matters in bear defense, 45acp is not the best choice for that due to low velocity and low sectional density. Your best option with it is a good hard cast +P round.
