With Karen Scam-Burgler looking to outlaw most guns in VA I am starting my build for a 300 blkout brush gun/backpack gun before it's to late. I was curious what people think about a foldable vs collapsable stock for something like this. I was going to go with a ~8inch barrel was thinking about going with a faxon barrel. Open to any and all suggestions.

I built my 300BOs on 10-12" uppers, to be shot as pistols with a single-point sling, ala old school MP5 style and easily fit in to a pack.

My folders are AKs, the Century Arms VSKA Tactical AKs, neither here nor there per your ? BUT as it appears your State is about to become another CAli/Canada state of confiscation...
1) I'd recommend you move. Not feasible for many people, so....

2.) Move your build/search parameters to include everything as fast as you can.

What are you going to do with it? Woods bumming, ATV rack rides, dirt bike marauding, all of the above?
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1165587473 I only have one SIG piston gun so far, it's an older P556, but that thing is a tank in every sector of checking a box.

I am not up to date on all the laws but after watching the most recent podcast with Styer I would be pretty careful about going SBR if you want to be able to go state to state.

I have a 8" AR pistol 300 blackout. Wouldn't think of shooting it without a suppressor.

that is a good point about going state to state. Seems safe in the near future to at least keep it as a pistol so I can go to texas etc to hunt with it and then if the gov comes for the pistols I can just SBR it then (if the ATF will approve for VA after these new laws )

yeah thankfully I am pretty blessed as a high earner so I have been able to buy a bunch of my dream guns this month as I just got my year end bonus a few weeks ago. I have my HK A4 sitting next to me right now and my MP5 is en route to my local FFL. I have 6 lowers that I am trying to build out over the next few months so they will legally be a "scary gun" so they get grandfathered in.
