Howdy y’all! I’m Tyler, and I am absolutely horrible with introductions and tend to ramble on a lot more than I should. You’ll either be mildly entertained or deeply disappointed by most of what comes out of my mouth or that I type up. I do not think there is any middle ground, so bear with me if this entry happens to go off the rails a little before hopefully circling back to its intended purpose.
I have been an FE print subscriber for a little while now and certainly enjoy the fact that there is still an entity out there utilizing print media. It’s nice to have something tangible to read, and the Q1 issue from last year made jury duty tolerable.
Anyway, I live in the Texas Hill Country around the Sattler/Canyon Lake on a few acres. I like the area and the seclusion that it brings, as my tolerance for people seems to be dwindling the older I get. I enjoy being outdoors, fishing on the Guadalupe, and making my way down to the Gulf as often as I can.
I am the fleet sales director for an auto group, which was never on my radar, but allows me to make a pretty decent living. In a previous life, I spent a lot of time within the public affairs and photography realm in both civilian and military roles. I still occasionally write and shoot for fun, though my days of freelancing full-time are behind me. I also spent some time within the intelligence and investigative realms as well. My life has pretty much been a blend of the semi-remarkable and the mundane, peppered with what seems like endless paperwork.
I drink a lot of coffee, but that’s mostly due to the fact that society tends to frown upon breakfast beers during the work week. I seldom take myself seriously, which I am sure is glaringly obvious at this point, and I have a gallows-style sense of humor.
That’s pretty much it at this point.
