Born and raised in South Florida. Grew up hunting, spearfishing and fishing all over Florida and the Bahamas. We had a French Brittany growing up, so most of my early hunting was quail, plus grouse and woodcock on our old property in Vermont, along with some preserve pheasant and chukar hunts.

After graduating college in 2020, I moved back to Florida. Our dog passed around then, and my focus shifted more towards waterfowl, snipe, pigs and gators. Reverse migrated to NYC for work in 2023. My brother and I now lease ~5000 acres in Southern Tier/Hudson Valley NY, Northeast PA, and Northwest NJ, where we hunt deer, black bear and turkey. I also hunt waterfowl on South Shore Long Island. On top of my local hunting, every year a buddy and I head out West to chase upland birds on public land with his GSP, and I still make a few trips back to Florida annually to hunt waterfowl, pigs, and gators and do some spearfishing. I've also been accumulating preference points for a variety of hunts over the last 3 years.

I'm mainly a gun hunter, but picked up archery this past season. I mostly hunt public or leased land. I really enjoy the DIY aspect and putting in the work to learn new places. I also really enjoy processing my own game.

I'd definitely be interested in trading hunts with anyone who's open to it. I've done it a few times already - helped a guy take his first black bear last year, put a few guys on gators and pigs in FL, and helped some guys cross off some unique waterfowl species like Fulvous and Blackbelly Whistlers, Mottled Ducks, Muscovy Ducks, and Egyptian Geese in FL.

Outside of the outdoors, I'm into cooking, reading and writing poetry, photography, taxidermy, brown liquor and wine, and eating shellfish.

Welcome! I travel to Florida occasionally and Siesta Key is one of my favorite places on the planet. I'm also a huge fan of Brittany's.. I had one and she got old and deaf and passed and I want another but I loved her so much it seems wrong almost to try and replace her. Welcome aboard!

Glad to have you here. With a 5000 acre lease, you shouldn’t have any problem trading hunts with some of the other Society members.

Welcome to the Society.

I did the opposite migration.

Spend my first 47 years in NY.
Borm in the Bronx, migrated north to Westchester, started hunting and moved to Dutchess Cty in ‘99 and started 19 years as a hunting guide and managing a gun club.

Still have my lifetime NY license, but miss the waterfowl and turkeys the most.
Dude, I live in Dutchess County now! That's awesome. Small world up here.
Picked up a Marlin Trapper 357 the other day at Quattros (assuming that was the the shop you used?)

@keithafernandezjr - welcome! Stoked to see another NY fella on here. I'm convincing all my buddy's to move out of the city - the cool ones at least, lol.

Great to meet you. If I can't move back down south, Dutchess Co. would be one of my top choices. You do much hunting around there?

Yes, used to hit up Quattros often.
I guided and was assistant manager at Tamarack Preserve in Millbrook for nearly 19 years.

Loved that area, hated those winters.

Hunted that area HARD...all along the Shunpike, Bangall Amenia Road, etc

Nice to see another NY resident in here… Come out to the east end this summer and i’ll take you spearfishing…

Where on the south shore are u shooting ducks?

Would absolutely love that. Been wanting to shoot a striper in the murk.

I mostly hunt around Point Lookout or west side of South Oyster Bay. Basically either side of Wantagh Parkway. Currently in the process of getting access to duck and deer hunt in Southampton / Quogue. It's a pain in the ass trying to do anything within Southampton town limits.
