Hey gang -

Been a print subscriber for a while now, just getting around to logging in to the forum.

Background - Wilderness First Responder, Expedition Leader for 13 years, followed by guiding fly fishing in western Wyoming, currently work full time in government emergency management.

I like HKs, sharp pointy things, solitude and cocktails, not necessarily in that order...

🍻

I like all of those things you listed. What flavor of HK are you into?

P30 V1s are my pref.

Love my P2000 as well.

And last year I picked up a HK45 which I really like. Other than some high-end 1911s, it it probably my favorite .45 I've ever shot.

Used to own a 45C V3 and it's the only HK I never warmed up to. DA trigger was like dragging a log sideways through mud, and it's basically as big as a double stack pistol, with single stack capacity.

Hammer fired HKs are the way. I’ve been a huge fan of the P30s since they were released. For ergonomics, reliability, and practicality, that’s a damn near perfect package.

Have you thought of sending any of your stuff to LTT to get it spruced up?

Indeed. And when outfitted with the LEM light trigger, there's really nothing else like it. I have a P30L V1 and a P30SK V1 and truthfully, they're the only 9 mils I really need.

Definitely. My P30L slide will likely get sent to Langdon for an optics cut, sooner than later. I keep hoping they'll just start offering OR slides for sale.

Sidenote - I trained with Ernest a few years ago, and it was excellent. I can understand why he's gotten away from teaching, but what he offered, esp. in terms of DA/SA-specific training, is sorely missed.

Welcome! HK USP45T here.....and a fly fishing question for you; A neighbor gave me his old split cane fly rod: Is it usable, refinishable, or just appreciate it as a wall hanger?

Thanks! Good to be here.

As for the cane rod, it could be any of the above. Really depends on 1) who the maker was to begin with, 2) how it's been stored and cared for over the years. Is there a maker's name on it? Any other details? Pics would be good. (y)

I had the privilege to shoot with both Aimee and Ernest on the range and it was one of the highlights of my career. They’re both incredible badasses on their own.

You inspired me to carry one of my P30s today. image.jpg
