The purpose of this thread is for you guys to share your knowledge of blades with us of the less informed tribe.

So I was looking at the Rare Knife thread from @Ron Dan and went loking for my CQD folder. Didn't find it and got sidetracked be these other folders I've picked up along the way. I don't know much about them individually so enlighten me please.

Also if your like me and have something cool and want more information drop it in here.

Here's the first to discuss, Benchmade Mel Pardue auto opener. Tell me about Mel and this design or anything else interesting about it.

I don't know anything more about these knives than anyone else, or that you couldn't find from a Google search.. what amazes me, is I have or had 3 of those knives in your picture myself, what are the odds, LoL.. the Benchmade Emerson CQC 7 I carried as a duty knife for years until I lost it on rappel, recovering a body that had been tossed over a cliff and hung up on a root ball of a tree.. the Mel Pardue was carried on my SWAT kit, and the Spartan Blade I also carried for awhile.. I'll be following this thread to learn more for sure!

As a lifelong knife guy (since I was a kid); you have some cool stuff there. Mel oardue designed a lot of great blades for Benchmade. Microtech, Harsey designed Dpartan blade, and Emerson speak for themselves in terms of tactical knife badassery.
Came to say this but all I didn’t realize uncle Terry had a legit little knife collection.

Well, I can only speak to the Benchmade, 154CM is high-carbon so it will spark well with flint to start a fire, good corrosion-resistance , good edge retention, and easy to sharpen. I have sent my assisted Benchmade in for warranty work when the spring mechanism took a dump and they had it fixed, sharpened and sent back in like a week, so they have good customer service
