If you are in the Pacific Northwest, check out Pinto's Gun Shop in Renton, WA. Owner is a long time friend, FE subscriber and easily is one of the most knowledgable persons on historic firearms anywhere. Don't get him started on Howdah Pistols, that is his love language.

Wolf's Mercantile in Livingston, MT is also worth putting on your list if you are in the area. Great selection of new Rigby Rifles and great used selection of sporting rifles.

In the PNW I also like Welcher's Gun Shop in Lakewood, WA. I bought a mint condition LC Smith 16 ga double there for a song! They always have a wide selection of new and used firearms. I also bought a S&W M&P .22 there that I shoot suppressed to eliminate rats and varmints around the farm and garden. The folks there are aces at negotiating through and around WA State's crazy conundrum of firearms laws and restrictions.

Ron's post on used gun find got me thinking - it would be interesting to know the gun shops guys have to stop in if they are in town.

I can start.

Bozeman: Montana Tactical - excellent shop with a great selection of unique/hard to find new products and always some interesting high end stuff - both modern and historic. The husband and wife owners are top notch and really know their stuff. Worth a visit if you are passing through Montana this summer.

Ennis, Montana - Shedhorn Sporting Goods. Full selection sporting goods store - camp/hunt/fish but an excellent used gun selection. Have bought Colt woodsman's there, Custom high end bolt rifles and some great revolvers. Trends much more classic wood and blued steel than modern.
Las Vegas, NV: Freedom Firearms, Wild West Guns. Both are great shops.

Bucky O'Neill Guns in Prescott, AZ. The building looks like it’s a guy’s backyard shed. You could spend an entire day going through their used and rare gun inventory and you wouldn’t see everything cool they have in there.

My local shop Michiana Firearms is the modern version of what a lot of us grew up with with a pretty good selection in the back of a hardware store.

And they try to carry what I like and write about so that’s a bonus.

The Tackle Box on Three Notch Road near the Patuxent Navel Base in Southern Maryland is a great shop. They usually have a good selection of consignment guns too.
