In the summer I buzz out to my lake and sit on the porch and have a beer while the dogs play, or else sit on my deck at home and do the same and watch my dogs play or watch my turkeys and birds at the feeders. In the winter I sit in my 70s bar and read and enjoy a cocktail.

Depending on the weather... When it's pissing rain like today, sitting in front of the fire reading and enjoying a tall glass of Pendleton on the rocks (neat)

When we bought this house to downsize after the kids grew up and moved out the shed was in need of repair and a mess, I put some time into it and during covid and a layoff I added a coal stove that i chunk wood in, a mini fridge and a small flat screen (replaced it with a much larger one now), I work on various firearm repairs that come in over the weekend from my trusted clients and am amongst my favorite tools. This is my relief watching a sox game or a good movie having a cold domestic blue can (or a few lol). It may be a bit rustic buts works for me and is plenty warm in the winter and cool nights.

Looks like a fun place to me! Pretty sure I could see myself enjoying a cold one and working on a rifle project in there.

I'd say I'm retired but I actually work harder now maintaining this property than I did when I was in the military and workforce. At the end of a grueling day I like to just sit back and enjoy the silence of defensible high ground, or dispense some freedom at my rifle or pistol range.

Depending on the day it might be a BJJ mat session getting beat up or choking out an unfortunate soul. Or a good sauna session to detox the brain and body.

Nothing better than my 3-yr-old and 1-yr-old running out of the house to come "help me" park the truck when I get home.

My daughter used to like in Lexington. We did a long day trip through Tennessee and it is some beautiful country!
I love east Tennessee... Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park, the Country Music Hall of Fame in Bristol. Catching the shows in Dollywood in Pigeon Forge was a pretty nice evening, the Tennessee River Gorge in Chattanooga is beautiful!
Disconnecting from technology and spending time with the family.

The best is to open the door from the garage and smell food coming off the stove and hear my family somewhere in the house. Now I'm home. Make it a Friday with no late work hours, and that's heaven.

My job requires me to talk a lot and have a lot of interaction with people. While I know how bad technology can be on a family there are days when I had a busy one the last thing I want to do is go home and talk. Those days I need 30 ish minutes to have a drink and honestly just play on my phone or read.
Lately, it's been my garden, and working with the horses for this Summer's pack trips and this fall's hunting trips. With our abnormally warm winter this past winter my garden is about a month ahead. And the horses pasture grass is lush..
