Did some pre-adventure recon this weekend, as I have hunted the property many times, the team there are deep friends and I would say even family, a quick end of year hunt is now a tradition, and I wanted to help our host @Dave Costarella make this a memorable if not indelibly awesome adventure come March, the PRIME season to hunt the area.

Pigs are plentiful, so those who signed up will be rewarded with great shot count. Warmth and wetness has the hills green, and food abundant, which means today the pigs are moving less to feed from shelter, and packed together, but barley will be high and movement ample by March, and the count should be prodigious!

If anyone wants advice or info on the property and pack list, etc., ping me, happy to help. If you missed the sign up, I highly advocate for this as a must do wild pig hunt, and they have great turkey as well - @Tony Caggiano can hook you up!

Took a big fat sow, 209 pounds hung, that will add to the dwindling chorizo stock in my daisy chain of freezers.IMG_5932.jpegIMG_5941.jpegIMG_5972.pngIMG_5970.jpeg

This is awesome. I cannot wait to do this hunt one day.

I did a Cali Boar hunt myself... thoroughly enjoyed it and at least in my case, the meat was excellent. I did the backstraps that evening in my Dutch oven with sliced apples and onions... the hams, roasts, roasted pork belly, even the smoked apple/pork breakfast sausage I had made was delightful. I would highly recommend the hunt, and would most certainly consider joining in on an FE sanctioned or sponsored hunt!

Great photo! This is a hunt I am eager to try out. The landscape and challenges of longer range shots excite me!
