I couldn’t wait until Glocktober. Day 1 release at least locally. G17, of which I don’t have one. Test driving later tonight. Initial impressions. Slim, slim grip. Flat trigger shoe. Dry fire, the trigger feels improved over any past gen. Aggresive grip texture and I do like the “gas pedal” ledge. Existing holster fit…,check

It’s a Glock.

Love mine, got it Dec 28. Agreed on your assessment 100%. My only concern is the new optics mounting system - wondering how the plastic plates will hold over time.

Range report: I took it to drills night and put about 75rds through it. The grip is REALLY slim and resulted in poor grip.

We ran a bunch of 5 reload 5 , single shot from holster, from low ready, full presentation slapping the trigger for reaction times, doubles, and triples. Progression working on speed. A good run for the new smoke wagon.

The trigger is much improved over any previous gens stock offering. I used my gen 4 and 5 mags without issue. The sights are what you expect. The flare in the magwell is good enough.

Accuracy. I shot high and right. Consistently. Grip? I’ve added the large backstrap post range and think that will make a difference.

There’s no plate yet for an Acro footprint. I’m on the email notification list for Forward Controls Design. The ORS system is an open question.

It’s a Glock. But it’s a really good Glock.

It does not fit the Safariland ALS holster. I suspect the gas pedal ledge.

I really like the ledge but it will take some training to index on that and adjust my grip

I'm debating between an Acro and an RMR. Main thing will be durability, not concerned too much with the open vs closed emitter debate.

I spoke with the team at XS Sights at SHOT. I would expect to see an ACRO plate from them soon. As with all of their products, it will be top notch quality.
