Sitting in Dallas waiting for the next leg of my journey. Have my FE shirt on, FEduffel at my side and my Randolph’s. Should be set to kill lol. I’m looking forward to the hunt for Tahr and Chamois with a mix of some other things as well if all goes smoothly. First time in NZ. Spent some time in the South Pacific before but not this area. Excited to see some new country.

Good luck! I'm sure you will have an amazing time!

I got an ex girlfriend roaming around NZ and she fake babied me to keep me around. So as long as you avoid her, should be an awesome trip!

There’s a Tahr there somewhere!

Those Chamois sure like to hide in the rocks. Was cool to see this one up close.

Shot mine also where he ran up into a rock shelter.

Had a blast hunting these guys. My friend still has to get his Chamois hopefully tomorrow if weather holds. Then on to do some red stag hunting and some duck hunting and fishing. Thanks for following along!

Inbound with a pair of chamois this morning.

Finished up at Fox Glacier and headed to Wanaka today to drop off the Tahr and Chamois I got.

This is a pile of stag! That was just a small amount they were preparing. He said they do around 3000 heads a year.

Once done I found a hotel and a nice bar. I head to Twizel tomorrow to start my stag hunt. If I’m successful early enough then I will get a little duck hunting and trout fishing in hopefully. New Zealand is truly an outdoorsman’s paradise.

A stack of black swans, Canada Geese, and a pair of Paradise Shell ducks
I tripled on swans with one shot twice in a row. Even caught one trio on video lol.

And final pic is my buddy Steve holding up my Paradise ducks like he shot them! IMG_7472.jpeg

We also did have one fatality in our crew today. IMG_7442.jpeg

Yesterday I got to chase stag. We hunted throughout the morning and didn’t find any until around noon. We found a group of hines with a huge stag but they busted on us before we got into position for a shot as he was bedded in the brush and couldn’t get a clean shot off. Later in the day we found some bulls grouped up as the roar is over and they are starting to bunch up again. We come over the hill and there they were. They took off across the canyon and up the other side of the mountain. We were lucky that a two track road led down to the bottom of the canyon so we only had to hike up the next part of the mountain a bit until we got within 300yds. I set up and waited until he fed into the open and took a good shot on him. He went about 20yds and fell over. Was a great way to finish off my big game hunting here! We are after wallaby today. Tomorrow I start the drive to Christchurch and fly home the following. Here are a few pics from the day. IMG_7601.jpegIMG_7595.jpegIMG_4328.jpegIMG_4358.jpegIMG_7616.jpeg
He was an old boy. Almost no teeth left.
