I need to get a new one. I had an 870 A-Tacs with the breaching choke but let that one walk a couple years ago. Shotguns are the ultimate suburban defense weapon.
Eyeing the 1301 very hard, but wondering if the increase in price is actually worth it over the A300 Ultima Patrol. Is it?

Is the 1301 a better gun? Yes. Is the money going to get you that much better of a shotgun? Not necessarily.

Not intending to start the Benelli - Beretta debate (though I did say Benelli first), I was not happy with the stock length on the 1301. It's all personal preference. While my 1301 runs fine, I prefer my Benelli.

Which Benelli? Pics of the setup?

Who’s rocking shotguns next to the bed and what’s your go-to setup?

I used to rock a little shorty Rem 870 Tac14 variant (Surefire forend & Leupold DPP) but I’ve now switched full-time to a Langdon Tactical Beretta 1301 with an ACRO.

I have a Tac-14. I need to get it set up similar to yours, Ron. I have a Streamlight Pro Tac laying around the house, but have doubts about its durability. I know Surefire is better and will probably run a Scout Light. Wish that Surefire still made those forends because those were 👍🏻. I know that the Semi Auto platform is probably superior, and there’s pros and cons to both platforms, but since I already have a pump gun I might as well get it set up. Either way, it’s pretty hard to beat a shotgun for HD duty.

How did the DPP do on that setup?
Good to go or would you go with something different?
What optics rail were you running?

I think Streamlight still makes an 870 forend. I’m all about Surefire but these 870 ones are hard to find from them.

I love the DPP. I’ll likely switch to a T2 before long only because I need the DPP for a different project. Either one would be fine. Durability on the DPP is great.

As for the optics rail. This was built into the Mesa Tactical shell holder.

Yes sir. The Genesis Arms Gen12. That one has a Spike’s Tactical flare launcher under it but me and @Terry Houin are going to build ours with LMT M203s.
It’s a good thing I don’t believe in sending kids to college. Please show the class when you are done with that project because that’s going to be sick!

Picked up a pair of NOS Remington 887 Nitro mag turkey guns, then retro-fitted 1100 Tac tubes onto them; 22" barrels, 31/2" mags...super fun, here's the crazy part....As the Canuckistanis disarm their people, some of the shops tasked with removing these weapons from their map grids up there are just selling off the parts into GunBroker, a lot of it is just NOS that never even came off a shelf until now.....

That's cool. Post some pics when you can. I was never really a huge fan of the post-Freedom Group Remingtons but I'm sure there are some decent guns there.
