This Memorial Day, I'm grateful for our freedom and thinking of those who made it possible.
I hope you all have a meaningful Memorial Day with family and friends, remembering those who served.
Those of you who have served, maybe try to reach out to some of your old teammates, let them know that you are thinking of them. I have some old teammates that I served with back in the 80s... I still reach out to them and we still get together occasionally. We've formed a pretty tight bond that I wouldn't change for anything.
Later today, as per our family tradition I'll be visiting the cemetery and placing flowers on all my relatives graves and flags on all of them that have served. I've taught my kids to do the same. If the timing works, we'll catch the memorial service at the cemetery as well.

I appreciate all of you in this society, and hope you all have a wonderful day!

I am named after my mother's cousin who died in Vietnam. I think of him every Memorial Day. I also think of the people I knew who died in Afghanistan and Iraq. I hope everyone has a blessed Memorial Day. I also remember my 10 classmates from the US Naval Academy class of 1991 who died in the line of duty.
