Got incredibly lucky and drew Montana Mountain Goat with only five points in Unit 330 (Absaroka Mountains east of Paradise Valley / north of Yellowstone). Currently debating whether to hire a guide or try to go for it with buddies.

If anyone has experience in this unit, I’d love to chat with you over PM, text or a call. (For anyone with elk experience this unit overlaps with the eastern portion of elk unit 525 and northern portion of 317).

This is a once in a lifetime tag that I definitely want to make the most of. Any insight on terrain, reputable guides, herd health, etc. is extremely appreciated.

@Mike Schoby might be able to give some insight

Congratulations on the draw! I've been putting in for sheep and goats in Montana for quite awhile so I'm jealous 😂. Best of luck to you!

That is awesome! Congrats to you. Know the area a bit but not enough to be of much use. Might be able to put you intouch with guys who know it better. Are your buddies familiar with the area?
