So it happens every time I travel with like-minded FE folks. The convo goes something like, "Have you read this?" which then spawns more suggestions from the group. Usually it is not the normal suggestions like "Horn or the Hunter" or "A River Runs Through It" but far more obscure and almost always worth the suggestion. I have kept notes on my phone and figured the Field Ethos Society would be a good place to start this same convo. Both to contribute suggestions and receive.

Must Read Books
One Second After (Entire Series)
Atlas Shrugged (Ayn Rand)
All Ian Fleming 007 books
92 In The Shade (Thomas McGuane)
G-Men (Stephen Hunter)
Julip (Jim Harrison)
Under The Banner of Heaven (Jon Krakauer)
all C.J. Box Joe Pickett Novels (Bubblegum Summer Reading)
The Crossing and Blood Meridian (Cormac McCarthy)
All Wilbur Smith Novels
I am a huge James Bond fan. Took a class on Ian Fleming in college after my grandfather pretty much raised me watching the films. It’s unfortunate that all of the new editions of the books sensor the original texts.

Books:
-The Moon is Down - Steinbeck
-Terminal List series - Jack Carr
-Steel my Soldiers Hearts - David Hackworth
-The Call of the Wild - Jack London

2000 Meters to Andriivka

Incredible documentary. I watched it twice in a row. Immediately after seeing it for the first time, I watched it again.

I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

Now for Movies - what are you top five recommendations?
There are too many I will give the top 5 most recent i have seen that are worth checking out in no particular order.

1. Mickey 17
2. Churchill
3. The newest Superman
4. Playdate (Amazon Prime)
5. Wake Up Dead Man - A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix)

Kitchen Confidential - Anthony Bourdain
His impact on how we approach looking at cultures around the world is often overlooked. Obvious introduction into his world

Essays - George Orwell
Never had a collection of works that every essay feels on point, every time.

Greenlights - Matthew McConaughey
Stfu, we all think he kicks ass and it’s a legit great book. Not a celebrity memoir, it’s a journey of a person finding themselves, who happens to be a movie start

In Search of Small Gods - Jim Harrison
Best book of poetry I’ve ever read. The small gods of our lives are the things we live for

Barbarian Days - William Finnegan
Life’s recollection of a sub-pro surfer, chasing the best wave

Never Settle - Marty Smith
Read it as I watched my mom die of cancer. Stories of struggle, triumph, life. Great read

Everyday Drinking - Kingsley Amis
Not a book on the planet that combines comedy and the art of imbibing better. Must read
