This weekend I took my friend and his son to a knife class with Cody Adolphson of Little Wolf Ironworks. I will show a few photos in succession of my Damascus knife I made. I’ll do it in a couple posts as I’m not sure how many photos I can put in a single post this is from the stage where I cut the steel into small blocks, stacked, and welded them to forge my blade. I then drilled a series of divots into the blank and then reforged it to make raindrop pattern Damascus. Love a great Damascus knife - great shape as well
Yeah me too! It was fun making a different type and style. Last year I made feather Damascus bird and trout knife. This year I experimented with a skinner for hunting. I modified a new design Cody was going to try. I put more curve to the spine and handle. I really liked how it came out. Next year I will try my hand at twist Damascus. I do have enough metal left over from this class to forge out one more knife, so I’ll do that later this summer. Here is my knife from last year. IMG_1684.jpeg

That is friggin awesome, I will take one also, the wood on the grips ----spectacular
lol thanks! I thought it looked pretty cool prior to finishing out but had no idea the grain would look that good! I have done this class a couple years. Every year I have taken a couple of my good friends I hunt and hang out with to it for a Christmas present. Everyone has had a great time and came away with a cool knife they can use and pass down to their kids. I don’t have kids so Garret my friends son gets to come along on our various adventures like this. Like a typical kid he was kind of like what are we doing here. By the end of the class he was excited as heck to use his knife next bird season. IMG_0488.jpeg
