Are we discussing flashlights here? If this is appropriate I figure I'll share some initial experience with the Noxon ANARK from Modlite.

I received this in a care package from Modlite just a few days ago. It's one of their new announcements this year and was just made available on Friday. It's a competitor to the form factor of the standard Stiletto and Wedge series. It's very similar in size to both. It has an internal battery and charges via USB-C which, conveniently, everyone has for phones and accessories. It has a high output of 1k lumens and 18k candela with a runtime of 2.5 hours. The low output setting is 80 lumens and 1k candela with a runtime of 17 hours. While the lumen output is comparable to the Wedge and higher than the Stiletto, the ANARK murders them in candela output. The beam is much more usable and is not limited to an area flood like the others.

I'm normally a carry a Modlite 18350 OKW (now the v2) handheld for all the fuck your eyes face melting beamz. I've tried the ANARK out and it works very well for an EDC task and use light. There are two buttons. The rear for high, the side for low. There are no modes to cycle, no needless strobe. The buttons are *just* recessed enough to avoid accidentally activating it in the pocket while still being large enough to be easily accessed and activated. The UI is: hold for momentary, click for constant. A very nice extra: it will stand on the tail allowing you to umbrella light a room if you've got a flat surface.

There is one tiny bit of oddness: when you hold for momentary there is about a 1/4 second delay before it turns on. When clicking to constant the light is instant. It is worth noting so it's not a surprise when using the light, beyond that it is of zero concern or consequence.

This light comes in at a very reasonable MSRP of $130. It's competitive in price and features. If my wife doesn't steal it (she was like heyyyy 👀👀 what's that 👀👀 when I got it out after the initial charge cycle) I'll be continuing to use it. I absolutely believe it will find a place in many people's pockets, packs, bags, and kits.

Good review. I hate that the Streamlight Wedge is the only one of these that got the form factor perfect. I absolutely love my Stiletto Pro II but I wish there was a deep carry pocket clip option for them. This light also appears to lack a deep carry option.

It's definitely not a full deep carry. My usual is an 18350 light with a full on regular head and a Thyrm clip. I usually have the whole light in my side hip pocket without being clipped.

I did that for a while with my Surefire E2D and the bezel ate through a handful of pockets.

You’ve carried this daily for over a month now. What are your thoughts?

I've carried it on and off. I prefer the output of a regular head. It's held up a-ok in regular carrying. The buttons, output, battery life all make it an excellent choice. Anytime I want a slimmer option I 100% will toss this in my pocket instead of an 18350 light.

You prefer a longer throw for your everyday light, right? If so, that’s why I switched to the Surefire Stiletto Pro II over the other options. I couldn’t see distance.

Yes, especially considering the head on my 18350 light is a multi mode OKWv2. It was a multi mode OKWv1 before.
