I had an ACRO and Micro T-2 laying around. I put the Micro on the Henry and am saving the ACRO for a pistol. The knob adjustment on the micro is easier when out in the field and wearing gloves.

A little different angle but for my 375, I have a Leopold 1-6x24 with the red dot in it. I can turn it all the way down to 1 and have a great view for up close, but I can also turn it up if I need to. The red dot in the middle of the crosshairs is very bright and easy to pick up on when shouldering the rifle, even when it’s bright outside.

Yeah, I've gone the LPVO route on my 45-70 as well. I had a Primary Arms 1-6 x 24 at the back of the cupboard doing nit muxh. Cheap and not that cheerful, but it serves a purpose and neither deer nor boar seem to give care what I'm looking thru. Same rational as Jacob ☝️

I've been torn between an LPVO and keeping it really lightweight. I'll be most likely using as a truck or brush gun.

My Blackbear gun is a Marlin 45-70 which has kept me from getting the FE version, but I went with the Leupold Scout scope as it’s made to mount further forward which works well on a lever action gun with a hammer. It keeps your scope out of the way. Great scope and highly recommend.

Of those choices, I'd go with the ACRO for its window size and durability. That said, I'd be tempted to consider an old school Trijicon 1-4x Accupoint in Warne Hyper Light Rings. A .45-70 won't need so much range for big magnification, and the Triji 1-4x is as lightweight as you can get in a variable. This keeps it handy, and no batteries as a bonus. That said, nothing beats a dot for speed-- I tested and wrote an article on it: Is an LPVO "Basically" A Red Dot on 1x".

I'm gonna pile on and say you should try an LPVO. I have astigmatism and most red dots look like a smear to me, so not something I would want to use on a longer shot.

If you're set on a red dot I would run something with a rifle-sized tube. The micro-dots are great a pistol but if you don't need to stay compact, I think you're better off with a bigger viewing window.

An LPVO would be my choice if you plan to hunt with it. I really love the Steiner P4Xi 1-4x24 P3TR reticle, usually can be had for around $600 new and the illumination is Aimpoint bright and clean simple BDC reticle.

If you’re set on red dots, I’d go for the T2, then the ACRO.

An SRO on a lever gun? Nah. An RMR HD would be tougher and more fit for the task.

I have had an Eotech, Trijicon RMR, Aimpoint PRO and a Delta Point Pro on my Henry X.

I like the Trijicon the best, Delta Point pro, then Eotech or Aimpoint.

All of them did the job, but you really need a cheek riser for any of them.

At JV’s recommendation, I put an ACRO on my Marlin 45-70 this fall before a black bear hunt. Absolutely love it and would recommend.
