For those of you who jumped on this thread thinking that it would be about me practicing some BJJ with Danny Devito or doing something freaky with Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) from Game of Thrones... You are mistaken! While both are accomplished actors and I would like nothing better to hang with them over drinks, alas, this is not that thread.

This about the world renowned shrimping on Washington's Hood Canal where I live. 1779828288645.png

Hood Canal is not a canal in the sense of an artificial waterway—it is a natural feature. Hood Canal is a fjord-like body of water. It's maximum depth is about 600 ft.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) runs a very limited shrimping season, random days (never two days in a row) and generally only 4 hours on the days it was is open (usually 9am to 1pm).. the WDFW generally only allows shrimping 20 days out of the year and rarely on weekends to limit harvest.. but Hood Canal Shrimp are among the best in the world 🌎.. and so for those of us locals, especially those of us retired locals, when the season opens, "it's go time!"

Today was one of those days but I digress... Getting back to the title.. since the season was only open from 9am to 1pm today, we were going to be having lunch on the water, and there's no better lunch then fresh caught Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp 🦐.. pull a dozen tails, and place them in your Thicc Midget or Everything Mug, pour the beer of your choosing over the tails (but not too full! ) bring the contents to a boil over a Sterno furnace until done (usually only takes a few minutes) peel and de-vein.
Then dump off the beer out of the mug (careful, they get crazy hot!) and put a metal dog water dish or bowl on the sterno furnace and melt a cube of butter with garlic in the water bowl. Now I'm you can stop right there and just dip the shrimp in the garlic butter and enjoy, or you can think ahead, bring some chopped green onions in a sandwich bag, bring a little brown sugar in another sandwich bag and dump a shot of bourbon or three into the bowl, then stir in the shrimp and glaze them up... Either way it's a quick delicious lunch!

I have to ask because you didn't mentioned washing the metal dog water dish first, is that part of the brown sugar, scallions and bourbon recipe?

All kidding aside, looks amazing!
