So I am going down a rabbit hole of single shots

Have always had a fondness for Ruger #1's and own several. But then bought a custom Lon Paul falling block chambered in 348 Winchester - stunning rifle that I haven't had time to shoot yet. Most recently ordered a Blaser K95 in 6.5 swede. Also a gorgeous gun and look forward to taking to the range shortly and possibly hunting antelope with next year.

Itch still not satisfied and I find myself spending too much time on guns international looking at vintage British and German combo guns.

Anyone else afflicted?

I have 3 single shots. First one is a ruger no1 in 22 khornet that is always fun. Second is a Vickers Martini in 22LR and third is a left port right bolt pierce single shot action in 308 sitting in a manners t4a stock.

I shot my first ducks with a break action 20ga DU Edition. Other than it being my “first” for wing shooting as a kid, I can’t say a share the affection.

I don't own a single shot, but I really like the 6.5 swede. We definitely will need a review of the Blaser when you get it.

Yes, I have an 1874 Sharps and I can't shut the fuck up about it. Haha

Single shot rifles are awesome! I too have a Ruger No.1, its chambered in 30-06 Springfield was one of the very first real hunting rifles I acquired. It was (and many have been since) a Christmas present from my wife. I found a very accurate round for it from Norma Ammunition. With their 150gr Kalahari bullet it'll shoot about 1" groups all day. The Kalahari bullet is a fracturing all copper slug like the Lehigh Defense Controlled Chaos bullet. It's lethal! My wife, my brother and I have all taken game with it, and it is certainly one of my more elegant rifles.
