Back in 1995, when I started out I had a great property in Chenango Cty where I would guide turkey hunters.
Bird numbers were through the roof up there back then.

Had to go to Binghamton for some training. It was a two day course. We all got so freaking hammered the night between the course that the next time they did the class they moved it to an offsite location. The entire class was a wreck the next day.

I remember walking around the parking structure of the hotel at 5:00 trying to sober up or puke, which ever happened first. Still made it to class at 8:30 and on my flight at 3:00 that afternoon.

One of the kids in the class had to leave class 2-3 times to throw up in the bathroom which was close enough we could all hear him.

My inlaws had an indian restaurant in binghamton for 20 years. And my wife grew up there.

Yeah it seems most of the turkey population moved further west, but we still see them during spring season. Waterfowl has been pretty good on skinny water (Chenango River), and we had a great woodcock migration this year. Deer population on our land has been good, as we keep pressure light in core areas. Below is a picture of a resident buck we’ve had around for 3-4 years, smashing bird feeders after last light.
