Out of many many guns I've bought, sold, traded I only have one regret.

Knights Armament Gen 1 SR15
with a brand new full power PEQ15 and Aimpoint T2 on it.

All Colt M16A1, bought the parts kit for $250~ a looong time ago and got an Intlmilco receiver for next to nothing ... don't remember why I sold it, only that I was stupid.

Picked up a Hakim in 8mm for next to nothing. Sold it for cash to buy a girl a ring. Biggest regret cause things didn’t even come close to working out. Fast forward the surplus market surged and now all those guys are selling for modern prices. Live and learn….the lady will go out before any more guns leave the safe.

My first rifle purchase was a SIG556 SWAT Patrol carbine. That thing was a blast to shoot with those diopter sights... But I wanted a red dot on it, and the charging handle wasn't easy to operate with a Eotech on it. Looking back, should have sold the Eotech and kept the rifle.

A close second is the M1A Scout. Needed the cash at the time.

I've kicked my own ass several times over those two sales.

Browning Hi Power 9 mm Mark III. Just something about that pistol I’ve never found in any that I own today.

A California Highway Patrol commemorative S&W Model 19 that my father gave me. I sold it to buy my first hunting rifle. I really wish he had waited until I was older before giving me that gun

I first got into guns older than some and younger than some. Never really had a list of firearms I wanted to acquire. That might have contributed to issues with parting with things. I really wanted a Walther P99 bought kept for a few years… sold it to purchase an FN 5.7… Obama got elected ammo vanished. Paid 180 bucks for 100 rounds… I got over that thing really fast. The worst part is I knew guys that probably had 10k rounds and would throw a man a bone. It was a sweet for the brief time of ownership. Probably the worst trade / swap was trading my Arsenal Sgl-21 Ak for a .223 Yankee hill can. Worst trade of my life. That thing is loud and heavy. I learned my lesson after that deal. I was considerably younger then. I gained the appreciation that I should probably find things that I really wanted and stick to buying those and holding onto them.

My old Mini-14 with a folding stock, sold her with six mags and a comp - sold it right after college because I needed the cash for something that looking back I didn't need. Sure, not as fancy as everyone else's, but damn I loved that little rifle. Still think they are as sexy as they come with the folding stock.
