Well, I have searched for this thread and have not found anything on it, we have our carry guns , the favorites, how about that gun that is your favorite range gun, The one you can shoot the bag out of or want to shoot the bag out of. Well this is mine, I contemplated what I wanted, due to the state I live in this is my choice , slide, frame and barrel are all that I used , built the rest out of the best parts. It was the only color available but it shoots, lights out. Post your Range guns if you would like. i have ended up in my latter years with more Springfields than any others, I like em. Maybe I will be shelled but thought some range guns would not be a bad thread. the Magwell was gifted to me ---not my scratches.

@ Ron That M&P line has come a long way. The first year of release I took the armorers course with the S&W crew about 10 years ago. I keep seeing your optics as the Leupold line and my old eyes are leaning that way. They are all I ever bought over my many years for my rifles and still love em. Could you at least have gotten your shots I lttle closer together ---lol

When I want to play at the range I use my Glock 34.. won it at a SWAT Conference about a dozen years ago now. Very accurate!

I remember doing my first M&P armorer’s course in 2013 on the original M&Ps. The new 2.0 guns are great. This gun has a really exceptional trigger out of the box too.

Funny, love those schofield revovlers had a cimmaron 3.5 , I carried it when I worked at my LGS. The 1911 says it all for itself
That’s cool! Yeah not many people shoot them anymore other than in cowboy action scenarios. I have a few originals I shoot on occasion as well but for serious range time this is the one I use as she is modern. Amazingly accurate. Yeah my 1911 has always been a great shooter. I traded a post 64 model 94 for it years ago.

Range toys always with the comps.
Top: G47, Radian Ramjet/Afterburner
Bottom: G19X Arc Division Reactor
Not shown: A Zev collab with a certain famous guy that I’ve posted many times, equipped as needed with the Zev Pro Comp V2.

Lately mine has been the S&W M&P 2.0 Metal HD. It just shoots so sweet. I recently brought it to the range with some of the guys from Blackpoint Tactical and they were also impressed with the performance.

I have a tricked out Glock 19 that I just can't love, but I also built it for my wife rather than me, so I don't think too much about it. I will say that it shoots like a friggin' laser if I can get a good trigger pull on it. I've been curious about the metal line of M&P's. Would definitely be willing to try one out.

I’m a big fan of factory guns. If you have to change out a bunch of components on your gun, it can take away from the inherent reliability of the gun (especially on Glocks) and could also cause some legal grief in the event you have to use it defensively. If you want a really great option out of the box, the M&Ps are great. My favorite overall polymer framed striker-fired guns are the Walther PDPs. If you haven’t checked them out, you need to.

I have seen the Walther PDP here a couple times, I have friend who was a local LEO and retired after 25 years and moved onto the Boston University PD, they just switched carry guns to the Walther PDP. Gonna have to check one out.

I agree with this in principle, if not being a total convert at this point. As a self admitted Glock nerd, I think most Glock owners chase some performance gain, whether real or imagined. The sheer breadth of the aftermarket parts, the ammosexual Instagram posts, and simplicity of the design makes it easy to chase the gains.

I’ve reached that point where you get a sense of why the stock Glock is genius in it’s simplicity and design. Both of my Gen 6’s are, and will remain, stock.

My brother in Christ, we are aligned.

If someone can’t run a stock Glock well, spend the money on training, not parts.
