2 April, 2024. Kimberley, South Africa 17:36 hrs. I was lined up on a black impala ram at about 175 yards. I was using my Gunwerks “ClymR” rifle chambered in 22-250 shooting 80gr Berger bullets. The only problem was Geoffrey’s CB radio antenna was directly in the line of fire. When the shot broke, the antenna was cleaved off and bent at about 90 degrees. Needless to say, that impala ram lived to see another day. Besides this incident, I think everything I shot was a one shot affair - even the black impala ram I ended up with. I have antenna at home as a trophy.

The smallest target I intentionally shot was a dime. I did shoot a cantaloupe at 1,000 yards with my 300 RUM but I wouldn't necessarily call a cantaloupe a small target, but at 1,000 yards it looked damn small!

Smallest I shot was a 12" plate at 600 yds. where one of the chains broke and it was hanging knife edged to me (1/2" AR500 plate). I took the shot anyway and hit it. It was during a match and I could have called target down but glad I didn't. Best part was it was with a .308.

Also hit 6" gongs at 1k yds pretty routinely. This is a 3 shot group at 1k yds with a 6.5cm shooting 153gr hornady A-Tips at a 10" gong.101.jpg

Himalayan Tahr in the mouth, 80 yards. Didn’t split the lip bc it would’ve jacked up the mount. Was coming down a hill above me doing Mach 30, slid to my feet, dead.

While not necessarily a small target, I shot a record book black bear at 100 yards, standing off hand dead center between the eyes 👀... It wasn't even supposed to be my bear! I was taking a Marine Corps buddy bear hunting and we had been hunting bears for about two weeks, we got pretty familiar with this one's route... We were slipping into our stand and I looked way up ahead and I could just see it's face poking out of the brush looking our way.. I told my buddy, "There he is! Shoot! I must have said "Shoot" about 3 times (my rifle was still slung).. I turned to look at my buddy and ask him WTF, and he wasn't there! I looked back and he was asshole and elbows running back down the trail! Unbelievable. There was nothing for me to do but shoot that bear, and so I did.
