Whomever this collector is/was had some exquisite taste in fine firearms!

I knew the original owner(RIP) of the Makinson 600, he loved hunting elephants and had killed 80 something in his life. That 600 was his dream ele rifle, I can remember like it was yesterday when he brought it to me fresh from the engraver to show off, looked like a black and white photo on the locks! I'd give my left nut for that rifle. He's the one who planted the africa bug in me at an early age.

Another extraordinary rifle in that collection is the Westley Richards Forest rifle in 600 Nitro. One of the finest doubles ever made!

Good Lord! Those are some serious rifles. A quarter mil opening bid for the Forest Rifle is staggering. Cheapest starting bid is $12,500. Little out of my league, but seriously beautiful

For sure!
Just the engraving on the Forest rifle would cost 75-100k
