Zip-off pants. Hear me out… Usually it’s cool when I set off on a hunt, but warms up quickly through the day and based on how far I have to track a not-not-alive-yet animal (let’s be honest here). I want a trouser that I can put on in the morning, zip off into shorts in the field, then zip back on for post-hunt libations in the lodge.

Priorities:
- Very discreet zipper / seam. After all, no one wants to be seen in zip-offs.
- Max 5.5” inseam at the zip off point. Should be at an appropriate length for African safari’s.
- Packable, wrinkle proof leg sleeves that are easily stuffed into your pack.
- No baggy cargo pockets or other indicators that these are in fact zip-offs
- A zipper system that is quiet, reliable, durable, and easy to use when I’m trying to transition without anyone seeing me
- Discreet zipper running the length of the leg so that you can keep your boots on while converting. Tripping and falling over myself while trying to get my pants on/off is nightmare fuel
