Epic waterfowl season up in NY

A few photos from my 2026 start. My buddies and I hunted hogs and I shot an axis doe in TX. We hunted scaled quail and javelina around my place in NM and coyote hunted around my place in ND. So far been a great start to the year. I go to NZ in May and SA in July so it’s going to be a hell of a year!

It’s slow until it isn’t lol. I love doing it. We used to run hounds on coon so it brings back a lot of fond memories hunting with my dad and his friend Ron. Hearing the old dogs bay on a hot scent gets the blood going.

Got this Javalina yesterday near Van Horn Texas, weighed about 45-50 pounds I’m guessing. 22 creed did the job, didn’t run far at all.

Not much hunting this year yet... mainly fly fishing and bill fishing... I did make it out duck hunting with some lifelong friends hitting the old beaver ponds and duck marshes we used to hunt together back when we were tweeners...
