Charlie,

Do you still like the Eberlestock Switchblade backpack? Looking for new more travel friendly backpack for Africa.

i'll vouch for these packs as well, Ive got quite a few of them, and I love them all....
Pete,

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been using my Yeti Panga for 7+ years, great for fishing, duck hunting, anything wet.... But bulky and hard to get shit in and out of when traveling.

I have a couple Yeti Panga's... I was just using my original one on a trip and talking about it with the guys... That bag has been through absolute hell and it is still holding up.... Years of sitting out on boats in the tropical sun and heat. It has been rained on, submerged, its even been sprayed with gasoline... One of the best pieces of kit ive ever owned. BUT, there are just times when a non subermisble bag is better... Easier to get in and out of, less bulk, more pockets. You gotta have the right tool for the job.

Same for me, headed to Africa and the work backpack will not cut it. Headed to their website now...

I'm confident it will serve you well. Enjoy your trip and drop some pics here in Society.
I will, but this trip will be different than the typical FE Africa trip. My wife is very into elephant conservation so we'll spending a week in Kenya primarily at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's compound outside of Nairobi. The second week we'll be in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) and I'll be playing with one of their anti-poaching units.

Sounds like a cool trip. Will be looking forward to the report on "playing with the anti-poaching units"

A friend of mine who works for Magpul got to play with an anti-poaching unit a couple of years ago and I've been wanting to do it ever since

Guys,
Thanks for the recommendation on the Switchblade. Took it last week out to West Texas hunting and it is exactly what I was hoping for.
