What are some of the best classes you’ve been to?

One of my favorites was doing the Modern Samurai Project class with our friends Pat Hemingway and Cody Osborn. Scott has a great approach to teaching and I picked up some great habits.

Absolutely best class was CSAT IN Nagadoches, Tx. Taught by Paul Howe who is ex Delta Force. He was a Team Leader in Mogadishu. Read his breakdown on the handling of mass shooters. Law Enforcement is not properly trained in Texas

I've had some great ones over the years: Rob Leatham, Bill Rogers, Dave Sevigny, Tim Kennedy, Eddie Penney, Jason Burton, James Yeager, FTW, Gunsite...Learned something from each of them. At this stage in life, I'm not trying to be Johnny Tactical, just want to build skills and have fun.

Paul Howe is an absolute legend!

FTW is such an incredible place

I think in response to @Wiley Watson post per an FE training Team, I was going to recommend hiring the Jedi. Have NOT attended his courses yet, BUT as a former Instructor myself I can see from just his online videos he's the real deal. No mystery/ hard sell BS and the vids he publishes online are FROM his courses. If you are getting into RDS for pistols, and need some REALLY key factors brought out into the light, he's your dude.

Sidebar; Does SkyFall have what could become a decent classroom for say 25?

Personal experiences with a few:

Chuck Haggard is a G. MUC, BUG, wheelguns, tactics
Yeti (Steve Fisher) covers fighting pistols, rifles, and shotguns
Bryan Eastridge/Darryl Bolke cover mostly revolver and BUG type classes
The Haughts (Symtac) for the gauge
Jedi for efficiency of motion with handguns

Steve Fisher is the man. Fortunate to call him a friend and his class was a great learning experience for me.

I have to prioritize going to do one of Darryl’s revolver classes.

I've never taken any classes, just private instruction. There's a former Force Recon Marine at my range that I've taken a couple of lessons from as well as a former Navy EOD who is a neighbor. I'd love to take a class or two but they're pretty few and far between in SoCal.

I've spent the last 15 years a a lead firearm Instructor/range master for our department and have had alot of exposure to many firearms instructors, this is my go to list for guys looking for the best in several disciplines.

Rick Crawley (Achilles Heal)
Joe Dawson (Veles)
Phil Velayo (The Cadre)
Caylen Wojik (Modern day sniper)
Pat Mcnamara (TMAC)
Drew Estell (Baer Solutions)
Aaron Cowan (Sage Dynamics)
Steve Fisher "Yeti" (Sentinel Concepts) he's also my old neighbor and friend of the family.
William Petty (Centrifuge)

Edit: If your going to carry a gun for defense you NEED proper emergency medical training.
I've done a 1/2 dozen different TCCC classes and Dark Angel Medical is at the top of the list, worth every penny.

TCCC are great courses. I took a couple Caylen Wojik courses at the Yakima Training Center and he was a most excellent instructor. Here's some pics of him from them.

If you all make this happen with Terry and Christian in a format that resembles the Hat Creek version (see link below) but suited to the FES crowd. it will be a phenominal event. Im claiming first in line! First day basics, second and third day pair up for pistol and rifle friendly stage competion. https://hatcreektraining.com/pages/n-a-s-t-i

I've been on the range at Gunsite, and at Blackwater and Tier 1 back in the day, among some others. Military before that. But I think the best instruction I ever received came when I was shooting 3-gun, getting to spend weekends on the range with some serious trigger pullers. Not talking tactics or door kicking, but about getting on a trigger fast and hitting. That made it pretty clear to me, any time you can get training with a pro shooter type, you should take advantage. The late, great Mike Voigt could completely fix problems in grip, stance, trigger - whatever - in a near instant.

To that end, much like @Terry Houin said about getting Craighead to Skyfall, it would be equally awesome to get a Jerry Miculek or Rob Leatham or any other top competitive shooter there. Shooters like them - their knowledge base and process to shooting is absolutely immeasurable.

100% agree on Dark Angel Medical. They know their shit. I have their D.A.R.K. in all my vehicles and took one of their classes a couple of years ago. I wanted to go to their California class this year but I have a conflict that weekend
