Best dive bar you’ve ever been to and why it deserves a monument

Aggie Lounge in Manhattan, KS. Tiny bar, no A/C, cash only, and the bathroom has enough liquid on the floor that you should probably wear muck boots. Complete shithole that I have very fond memories of. A mix of townies, frat boys, and farm kids with outlaw country playing on the jukebox.

In college $2 would get you a Busch Light and a pickled egg that was likely old enough to legally drink. Dinner and a drink for $2 seemed like a helluva deal for a broke college kid.
 
Texas Chili Parlor. Downtown Austin right by the Capitol. Mad Dog margaritas, and a big heaping bowl of chili never misses. Crazy place for people watching for sure. Cowboys, punks, bikers, hippies, libtards, and the occasional politician. Never know what you’re gonna get but they all cohabitate well enough.
 
Sandbar in Bahamas. Don't ask me why we went to the Bahamas in July but we did. Take the beach and put it into the bar but air condition it. Beer was cold and the food was much better than what we had been eating that week. Drinking beer with your two sons when they aren't legal in the states added to the ambience.
 
Rusty Spur Saloon in Scottsdale, Arizona. Used to be a bank when first constructed in 1921. My cousin who died in 2011 had an open casket viewing there, his dying wish, and they propped his casket up inside near the bar.
 
Oooo....Soggy Dollar in Jost Van Dyke? Sail/swim up beach, no dock...thus the name. Sand and beach is among the best in the world.
 
I have two.

1. Nunu's in San Diego. Great cocktails and their wings are legit. Do NOT attempt the "nuclear" wings. DAMHIK

2. Jake's Saloon in Lone Pine California. An old school western bar and an ice cold beer is just the ticket after summiting Mt. Whitney
 
Hillsboro Tavern in Mingo Junction, Ohio (where they filmed The Deer Hunter). It’s the town I grew up in and the tavern is an old house on top of the hill (bar is in the basement). Just has that perfect small town hole in the wall vibe. Good bar food and cheap drinks
 
Danny’s Bar on Coronado. It’s a hole in a wall in an overly ritzy town and is a solid escape from reality. Pro- they will hand you a bottle and a glass if you ask politely. Little Club gets an honorable mention for being rowdy as fuck

And since someone will inevitably bring up fucking McP’s….

McP’s is gayer than two boys fucking in a church yard on Sunday, but the waitresses did sell coke and themselves out the back for a bit so they get a little cred for that. Otherwise it’s for tourists and fat chicks
