Well I got mine last night. It is a hell of a package for the money. I really think I will love this gun. Trigger is light and crisp and gun handles well in the hand. Only modification I will make is adding an arca plate for hunting off a tripod while hog hunting.

The idea on the color of the blanket was to have something that could hide in plain sight in the backseat of your truck.

I actually cut the zipper off mine last night with a pair of scissors. Way easier and faster to get the rifle in and out now. We should’ve never had a zipper there, but we didn’t have prototype input or a text sleeve.

I also had a mental war with myself over optics do this rifle yesterday. I wanted to use the Kahles K18i-2 because the FOV and glass is just so good. The 1 MOA center dot just wasn’t going to work for precise kills out to 500yds.

Went with the Mark 5 2-10x and it’s going to work great.

Tomorrow starts my giant waste of time trying to convince the Austrians to rethink their reticle.

I can’t wait to get out and use mine but it was about -10 with windchill yesterday. I may have to do the same on the sleeve

It actually use a stitching knife and disassemble as much of it as possible to leave more material at the end so you can roll and sew the edges of the opening. I barely have enough length to cover the butt pad now. I can still stitch it and make it work this evening when me and Warren are finishing the second half of Open Range.

Who/where do you get your Leupolds through? [ just an added caveat; Nope, I'm not looking for a discount or a group buy deal. Finding some "interesting" unsavory matters with buying Leupolds lately.]

In my opinion, the best optic for this with the best reticle is:

MARK 5HD 2-10X30 M5C3 FFP ILLUM. CMR-MIL

You can find it here. I’ve always had great experiences with EuroOptic.

Europtic has best customer service! Always willing to do a deal. Make sure to call them. Better than just online buying.
