At the risk of laps if this has already been asked and answered.. will the re-stocked vellies also be in buffalo leather? I have two rawhide. Need two buffalo.Just some info for you guys:
We’re still beating up S. Africa on tariffs pretty good. Our boots all come from the Jim Green factory there (love those guys). Obviously there have been disruptions. Rather than a price hike, we decided on a holding pattern, but the vellies will be back.
The prototype ranger is something we’re excited about. I marked up a pair of rangers a few years ago on my iPad and we have a few trial pairs in office now. We changed the toe area to be more squared and we made a few other changes that have been performing well. Kevin Brittingham says they’re his favorite boots and he really puts miles on these things in Africa.
We’re testing them in standard sole and barefoot sole. Hopefully they’ll be stateside this year.
Buffalo is in the cards for sure. Already looking at different tans of the brown Buffalo leatherAt the risk of laps if this has already been asked and answered.. will the re-stocked vellies also be in buffalo leather? I have two rawhide. Need two buffalo.
Like JV, I have both, love both, and have beat both to hell. Courteneys are built for performance and longevity in safari-like conditions and will likely outlast all your other boots. Jim Greens are built for safaris as well but more geared towards comfort. My Jim Greens have become daily drivers and my Courteneys are my go-to for safaris and mountain hunting.Curious if there was a falling out with Jim and the Courteney boots or if through field testing, it was discovered that Jim Green’s were actually a better boot. Or is it a function of price-point/customization.
Plans for getting sizes in either a 13 or 14?Just some info for you guys:

I greatly appreciate it.We’ll get a few pairs in those sizes
What soles did you go with? I've only gotten the regular soles as I like something more substantial under my feet than "barefoot" - regardless of brand. @zcphillips opted for the tire tread soles on his Rangers. Zack, how are those working out?
The bronco leather with that thicker soul, have been great. I’ve worn them daily, and they have held up very well. Someone asked about the arch support. I’ve had to deal with plantar fasciitis, but I haven’t had any problems with these boots. What soles did you go with? Maybe buy a pair of regular-soled Rangers a few sizes too big and wear those over the top of your barefoot Rangers? Not sure if I missed it but does anyone have a solid recommendation for insoles other than super feet for the barefoot rangers that provide a bit more support and/or cushion? Mine are great boots but it's the first type of barefoot boot I've owned and it seems my little bitch soles have to build up endurance.
I'm stoked to see how they perform for you in Africa. The bronco leather with that thicker soul, have been great. I’ve worn them daily, and they have held up very well. Someone asked about the arch support. I’ve had to deal with plantar fasciitis, but I haven’t had any problems with these boots.
I think this is the way. Go on safari and be the softest ranger on the continent. Shit talk single pair ranger wearers. Likely have to change my pronouns though.Maybe buy a pair of regular-soled Rangers a few sizes too big and wear those over the top of your barefoot Rangers?
Make everyone around you feel like a peasant for only wearing a single pair of boots at a time.I think this is the way. Go on safari and be the softest ranger on the continent. Shit talk single pair ranger wearers. Likely have to change my pronouns though.
I’d be putting out too much testosterone. Lions would bow, hippos swim away … change the whole ecosystem with my royal manliness. Then probably get shot by a poacher.Make everyone around you feel like a peasant for only wearing a single pair of boots at a time.
Single boot pair wearin’ ass poor ass biatch.Make everyone around you feel like a peasant for only wearing a single pair of boots at a time.
