In another fish report, here locally in the Puget Sound area of Washington State, the lunker rainbow trout fishing in the lowland lakes is kicking off after an unseasonably warm winter. The big 'bows are in shallow and aggressively feeding right now. I've been taking the boys out on the weekends here locally, just trolling Rapala's or using the fly rods tossing big (3-5 inch long) egg sucking leeches.

Last day on the ice for me this past week. Ice went from 23in thick to 12in in a week and a half. Temps have hit high 60s this week so ice is coming off fast. I took my friend and client Ray who is from TX ice fishing on Wednesday. His first time being out on the ice. We had a blast and limited out on Walleye. I had to take a picture of him with the smallest fish of the day lol. Had a great hard water season and already looking forward to the next. IMG_4796.jpegIMG_4816.jpegIMG_4824.jpegIMG_4798.jpeg

Makin’ hay while the sun shines! Good man!

Unfortunately it ain’t all sunshine and roses every trip…After a pretty good string of badass trips, spent a long day covering a lot of water down in Cabo to catch this lost dorado…

Cheers to the one bite days that the hooks stick on and tasty yellow and green fish that save the day from ending with a skunkset picture…

Last trip for me and this 40 year old Ocean Master together, been a helluva ride together but the little boat that could hits the market in a week or 2 and something much faster and more comfortable is catching a ship south for this next season…

In other news, the spring bite is on in eastern Washington, spawning bass and walleye are smacking hardware. Kiddos and I slayed the smallmouth bass and walleye. My youngest son nailed a 10lb walleye, and Estelle hooked one as large if not larger, but when she got it up to the boat, she got so excited she started yarding on the rod and busted it in half, lol! Once the tension left the line the walleye spit the hook, I don't know whose heart sank the lowest Her's or mine, lol!

Sounds like an exciting time for all!

Contrary to popular belief, the Swordfish population out of Texas in the Gulf of America is as strong as ever….Not bad for a couple days of fishing… 20 for 26 on Swordfish out of Galveston…
