My watch collection is spilling across my vanity (I need to do something about that) but collecting pieces is only half my interest. The other half is in the history and tradition of watchmaking. See pic for two volumes that stay within reach at home.

Anyone else in it for the love of the craft?

I took a deep dive into watches while working witha guy that was a literal amatuer horologist. Not a WH…ist.

I learned a lot about watches and had him build a watch for me. I’ve posted in elsewhere here.

I’m an affordable watch guy. Mostly that meant I was looking at watches with ETA or the Japanese movements.

Recently, I’ve been collecting some of the Swatch collabs. I have 2 of the Moonswatches.

Most recently the Swatch x Blancpain collab with the Sistem 51 automatic movement. 51 components held together with a single, central, screw.

I’ve been looking at the DIY Watchclub kits to build my own “Jeff Made”. I had, and continue to have, a watch problem.

I have the Moonswatch mission to the sun and love it! So fun to wear and it gets a lot of commentary. I also like cheap Swatches. I'll post a pic of my Queen E and Annie Leibovitz swatches in the "on your wrist" thread soon.

Those DIY Watchclub kits look pretty cool... they will probably end up getting some of my time and $$...
