SHORT: This is the Way.

LONG take: Yup, the corners of the hunt/shoot/gun industry appear to be in a panic for the "next". It appears we have an FE Society contingent who are also of the quiet MIL/LE professionals, and it sounds to me like Terry is the sensei we are lucky enough to have in the Room. Coming to the table in the Rooms where a sort of Corporate global espionage is part of the recipe and the fun. Hunting. It's real. When I pick up a copy of FE it's not just a National Geographic photo shoot of cool people/places/things on a safari or fishing photo shoot. Moving a herd of Type A feral cats is a craft, maintaining the goals direction, while there is an understanding the debrief is NOT going to be a table full of trophies. Thank You.

Positives: Decent sound quality. Good format with 1 on 1, podcasts start to suck proportionally to the number of people participating. Not over produced with introductions, music, etc. you just got into it which is great. Came off as two buds catching up. Good insight to the FE world which fans will be interested to learn about. Great first guest, but that was a lay up for you.

Development Area: personal POV- the industry participation stuff. I know it’s the nature of such an enterprise but one of the things that drew me towards FE was, what I perceived as, not giving a shit about the industry and just being hell bent pirates doing your own thing. I don’t want FE to be a different flavor of the circle jerk outdoor industry lifestyle brand ecosystem- meat eater, nock on, etc. (will get off my soapbox now). Felt over indexed on during the inaugural episode anyways.

Looking forward to the next one.

I appreciated that it was less than an hour long. The sound quality was good, if perhaps a little low. The story about Uncle T's 30th birthday was awesome. It was also cool to get some behind-the-scenes insight into FE and what's going on.

The negative list is short. It sounded more like a conversation between two friends rather than a podcast with a purpose, like an interview. I would have liked to hear a bit more about Terry's background, the little we heard makes me want to hear more stories.

Oh, if you ever do an FE Outrider pirate hunt I am fucking in!!

I have kind of gotten burned out on podcast because I drive 40k miles per year. If they are over an hour I struggle to get through them unless it’s really interesting.

I listened this one on the beach in Turks sipping on a few cocktails (went with a screwup). Enjoyed it a lot. The ones I like the most are conversations with people that just flow with some cool as stories thrown in there.

Would say the conversation on the industry was more business talk between two colleagues. Since buying a business 3 years ago I really enjoy business talks. There are so many differences on how folks think about business. Really understand the behind the scenes talk around the disfunction but proudness of the group of folks and their caliber. Great people will over come a lot. Adding a little structure and systems will only allow you all the grow and be better. It’s a fine line between that and keeping culture, it can be a really tough balancing act. We are a little more seasoned business but still a sales organization that has to have some hellions pushing limits. We make slow changes and try communicate the why around it, helps keep our culture!

The African talk was cool. I want to go bad but at my age/health I don’t have the balls I used to and think I want to shoot cuddly animals that look cool and are more scared of me.

On a flight back home this was a business trip I got to bring my wife along. Pretty sure I got Ecoli. Been pissing out of my ass all week after the second night. Urgent clinic may be on the list tomorrow.

Great format (1x1). The time allocation was good. I like longer form as well, but those can be much harder to listen to.

Audio was decent. Not bad, but could be better.

Sweet Tea was a very appropriate first guest. Just two friends catching up.
Also, I glanced over the story of the stolen rental car with the soon to be dead guy in the trunk. Pretty funny - and Terry tells the story like he went grocery shopping.

The one podcast I listen to the most is Cleared hot. Andy has talked a few times about shooting people like he was brushing his teeth. I guess it comes with the territory. If you watch the opening of his on YouTube he has a short video of him blowing someone up with a javelin. He turns and laughs to his buddies.

Had a chance to listen today. As mentioned by others I think the format 1 on 1 was good and the length was right. There was enough to be interesting as a standalone, but a lot of hints that should draw people into the ecosystem. I know for me, already highly desiring to go on an Africa hunt, this really pushed me even more to make it happen. Uncle T's description of the hunt gave a glimpse into the much deeper things we all feel when chasing prey. It was something I caught myself thinking I would like my wife to hear to understand what it means to me. More stories about hunt trips will be excellent advertising for Outrider. Looking forward to the next one!

This was the most comprehensive review I’ve ever seen. Including your ass piss really rounded it out. A heartfelt thank you from me to you.

I really enjoyed it! The length was perfect. Some podcasts are great, but just too damn long—at least for my short attention span.

Aside from hearing the story of Terry taking care of business, my favorite part was you yelling at everyone to shut the F up. That was perfect!

Keep them coming.

Length was on point. No mid-roll ads, thanks for that. Listened in the truck and the audio was jacked. Not awful, more like stereo in a tunnel. Typical result if you’re not up on the mic or going with an overhead or lavalier mic.

Really enjoyed it. Great listen. I appreciated the balance between Terry’s military service and his adventure and hunting experiences. Way to start the new pod strong! If this is a sign of what’s to come you’ve got a hit on your hands. Can’t wait for the next episode.

Episode 1 Here:

Just finished watching it. That was really, really, good. Shit was a home run! Living in Cody, I know Aaron too, we're in the shop a lot and I have one of the not discussed TAF rifles on order as well as a FE/Gunwerks "Pygmy" because there is no such thing as too much 308. When you lads work your way to up here to Cody it would be bad-ass to hang out a bit. Y'all are welcome here anytime.
