What's the reasoning behind your preference for controlled feed vs push feed? Controlled feed are only pre-64s right or have they made more modern versions?
The modern Model 70s are controlled round fed. I believe they went back to control round feed in the late 90s I think.
The control round feed are what is desirable for the style of hunting we should all like to do. The post 64 crf model 70s are slightly different than the pre64 versions. Different stock bolt spacing and magazine/ bottom metal depending on generation also. Post 64 classics are about as good as they get.
