I love a Negroni; one of my go-to cocktails. I like to add a few dashes of black walnut bitters to mine. Anyone else have any cool variations on this classic?
 
Mezcal Negroni's absolutely rip.

I went down an amaro rabbit hole - buying a bunch of obscure shit whenever I saw something I'd never seen before.

Some worked, some didn't - the ones that didn't I drank over ice with soda. But, all in all - I found they change up the Negroni in an awesome way.

Best Alternatives to Campari I found were:
Bruto Americano
Faccia Brutto, Gorini
Distillerie Capitoline N'Amaro, hard to find https://folkwayswines.com/
Cocchi Rosa

My absolute favorite Negroni variant is a rye version and it’s not quite a boulevardier. I do equal parts High West Double Rye, Cynar, and Carpano Antica. Built just like a classic Negroni but it’s a good year-round cocktail for me.

So you were replacing the Campari rather than adding to the original trio of ingredients?
 
This was the Friday motivation I needed. Enjoying one now. Ideally I have time for 2-3 more and then JV drops the Sangin and I can slam that buy button.
 
Ever tried a fat-washed Negroni? If you smoke meats I highly recommend a wagyu brisket fat washed Negroni. Or wagyu beef tallow. It’ll change your life.
 
I’ve been drinking the “Clint” as of late. If you’re familiar with Clint Hill, he was a Secret Service agent for 5 Presidents (Ike-Ford). That was his signature drink and had the ingredients printed on the back of his business card that he would just hand to bartenders. That’s how Mike Rowe met him. They were sitting at a bar together and had no idea who each other were and Mike saw him hand the bartender his card and had to hear more. Pretty cool.
Highball glass with ice, 2 parts Campari, 1 part vodka, slice of orange, top with soda water. Unique and refreshing
