New SecureIt Storage - Thoughts?

Crap, I thought they were made in the USA! Just did an AI search, and it turns out that SecureIt's higher end stuff is Berry Compliant but their "consumer" level products are Chinese. Well, I've encountered a rare quality Chinese-made product (Fenix flashlights, some Vortex products, etc.) so I'm still going to keep an open mind and give it a fair shot... but this development does disappoint me. Outwardly, it does appear to be a well-made product, though.
 
They can't break into it if they can't find it... Have a dummy safe with some cheap guns to divert their attention and let them break into that thinking they scored.

Also get some good insurance, most home owners insurance doesn't cover shit for firearms and riders are expensive. Highly recommend Gun and Trophy Insurance is very affordable and a reputable company.

I have a stack on I bolted into my closet at my house down south. Works well enough for its purpose. I keep a couple spare guns for if friends show up or my main shotgun takes a crap on me. My high end guns generally are in my heavy safes in an alarmed building. However I still keep some guns in old school style gun racks or cabinets. I live in the boondocks and don’t have kids so not an issue as far as prying little hands and I’m still old school as that is how we always stored guns at home. I’d get my ass handed to me if I touched a gun without asking first lol. Times have changed though and I certainly understand why people lock everything up.

I think additional insurance is a main take away for me. I never really considered my homeowners insirance may not be enough.

I’ll probably have to to defend my life on a Holosun optic. :)

I’m keeping the storage. The size, price, and my intended use case met my requirements. I need to get pictures posted.
 
Played with it a bit more today. Added some magnetic shop hooks to the side for my "emergency shooting kit" needs. The top cradles my electronic ear pro, and the bottom holds my spare prescription glasses. Between those two and the shotgun (with ammo in a side saddle), I think I'm all set for the next crackhead who rattles my door.

You would be amazed when you start looking at how poor most home owner policies are re. gun insurance. That said, there are starting to be affordable independent options that don't require you to schedule out your firearms under a certain individual cost. Also if you haven't already be sure to take photos and videos of all your guns, showing the serial numbers and reading them allowed. Put on a sd card and store it in a safe deposit box. You will want all of that to report to the police as well as insurance if you get broken into.

That would be a good thread if you have information on the gun insurance options that are out there.

This is who I changed to when SCI insurance lost their underwriter for a time a few years back.

When I filled out the form online i borked something up and the owner actually picked up when I called. His dad was pretty cool when I talked to him at SCI back in 2025.

No serial numbers needed when buying the policy, but keep a personal list. No specific appraisals for a piece until a number I haven't hit, and that is for that specific gun not the whole collection.

I went ahead and signed up with G&T. I was very impressed with their service.
