I miss the days of having a bar in my desk while working in a big office. Be sure to tag us when you’re sipping some office happy hours.

We bought this for my the boss 4-5 years ago. Dude always talked about having a globe with a bottle of bourbon in it. When we bought the business from him and he retired I moved into his office and inherited it from him. Has a bottle of Woodford in it.

If there is whiskey in my house which there always is it gets drank. I don’t collect I consume.

Problem with my buddies is when they come over it doesn’t last long. A friend was down in Kansas and he picked us all up a bottle of Weller’s. He dropped it off at a different buddy that lives close to me. We cracked that bitch and drank half of it before I made it back to my truck. Yes they live really close so the drive home was auto pilot!

The Old Taylor bottle (empty) is an antique I found digging around the old mines up on Hart's Pass in the Pasayten Wilderness.. Old Taylor was the original brand from the original Buffalo Trace distillery way back in the day.. The Catto's Gold Label whiskey bottle I found in the same old mine trash pile... the old mining camp is the only place I've been where I've seen an outhouse with six toilet holes cut in it. I can't imagine sitting there with six other hairy legged bastards grunting one out, rubbing thighs together but I guess modesty has no place in the mountains.
Was going to ask about the old E.H. Taylor bottle

I have never really saved a bottle for a special occasion, but I don’t usually use higher end bottles to make a cocktail; I prefer to drink those neat or with just a large cube of ice.

“Bourbon is like a kiss; you’ll enjoy it more if you share it with someone you like”. I tend to pull out the higher end stuff when friends are around who also enjoy it.

I have rarely spent more than $150 for a bottle of spirits but I've been blessed with more than a few. I was given bottle 84 out of 87 from a first barrel from a local distillery. Most were paying $500 for it. I planned on saving it for some special occasion. I ended up having a couple of near death experiences and long hospital stays and decided that there were more special occasions in life than I had previously thought. I spent the next year enjoying those occasions with special people.
I save more regular bottles for regular hang outs, nicer ones for people who appreciate something fine and more rare.
I used to have a podcast on small batch distillers and acquired many interesting bottles during those times. The dill aquavit and a sketchy absinthe get pulled out of the back for a "hey, try this weirdness" moment. I think they are among a handful I still have from over 10 years ago.

There are some special bottles that shouldn't be shared with a crowd. They won't be appreciated. On the other hand, I've pulled out some nice ones when I'm trying to explain to a friend that whiskey is meant to help you remember and not to forget. It's not meant to "get you there" but to remember where you are.
