Ok, so my remote cabin has turned into a bit of a prepper pad. Off grid solar powered, unlimited water, well stocked food, booze, guns and ammo. Pretty much set right? but it got me thinking what if the world really did come to an end? A good book library and DVD selection would be nice to have on hand. I started collecting favorite movies that can be rewatched over and over. Help me create the library of congress of must have movies.
What is on your must have list?

Apocalypse Now, Director's Cut. Street Kings, Sicarrio, The A-Team (new), American Hustle, Heat,
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.....

Good topic
I have a solid state hard drive with around 600 movies on it for such an occasion.
I have a friend that bought a DVD burner and our friend group shared all of our DVD collections with him. He burned them all into digital and loaded them onto hard drives for us. I bought a 5TB hard drive from Costco for less than $100 and it still has plenty of room.
Some of my favorites off the top of my head;
Quigley Down Under
Shooter
Open Range
Goonies
Great Outdoors
Uncle Buck
Indiana Jones
Second Hand Lions
Die Hard
American Sniper
Ghost and the Darkness
Out of Africa
Heat
Top Gun
Captain Phillips(for Uncle T's sake...)
RED
Book of Eli
Zombieland
Training Day
13hrs Benghazi
Full metal Jacket
National Lampoons (all)
Field Of Dreams
John Wick
Jack Reacher
Jack Ryan
Bourne series
Zero Dark Thirty
Dances with Wolves
Tombstone
Last of the Dogmen
The Patriot
Big Lebowski
Stargate

Before DVDs add a 2.5 X 10" buffalo leather strop, for blade maintenance and edumacations. I forget who makes it, got it via a Japanese knife guy in the ewe toobz...invaluable for burning time in an FE manner....

Monte Python and the Holy Grail, Escanaba in the Moonlight, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Raising Arizona, all 3 Godfathers, Band of Brothers series, Kelly's Heroes, all Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, Unforgiven, original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Airplane!, History of Violence, all Lord of the Rings movies

Jeremiah Johnson first and foremost. Aliens and Predator are must haves.
good suggestions - but keep in mind this is for post apocalyptic viewing - some I'm leaning more towards classic lighthearted comedies. But agreed Jeremiah Johnson makes the cut.

Hey all,
My first time to post. I felt this question by Mike resonated with me on so many levels. I started to just make a really simple post about it here, but it kept growing so I turned it into an article.
I REALLY hate shameless self-promotion, so I'm a little 'out of water' so to speak with this. Please don't judge me, but I think this article works.

I'm a 56-year old with aspirations to be a writer someday. I have submitted the article through the Field Ethos usual channels, but I also published on 'Substack'.

If you've a few minutes to spare, maybe check it out.
If I'm breaking any rules for the Field Ethos society, I ask in advance forgiveness.

Love and Peace to all.....
