Remedy for a SHITTY DAY

Reading this thread got a day that started off wrong flipped around quick-like...thanks, @Godfather I will typically try and recognize that I'm in a shit place (psychologically), do my best to objectively assess the situation and determine if it is me/my outlook or an external factor beyond my control at the root. 95%+ of the time it is me and I need to adjust my angle of attack. I consider people I know personally who would do anything for everything I am taking for granted in that moment - my wheelchair bound mother who is non-ambulatory with MS....and recently retired from pastoring two churches then published a book is a constant example/inspiration. Friends who have passed on and no longer have the opportunity to have a good day. That gets my orientation correct, then it's all about visible progress...work of any type or kind, reloading, slinging some lead and/or arrows or just putting some road behind me on the bike.
 
Sharing a bottle of wine with my wife (she says I am terrible at sharing, therefore it becomes 2 at times). That can take the edge off of a bad day.

Other than I just have to do something and get moving.

In sales and you have a lot of wins and loses. The longer you get into it the loses hurt more than the wins feel good, its just part of it. I have lost sleep over it and then a few weeks go by and you look back and wonder why the fuck you let something like that cause you to lose sleep. I guess the older I get I just let them kind work themself up.

If I wake up the next morning I am winning!

Well said @Steve Johnson - I read somewhere this week a statement that poorly recounted said as follows: living too far in the future has a tendency to create anxiety, with all the uncertainty; living too much in the past tends to create depression, with over thinking choices and actions beyond reflection, learning and applying that forward; living in the present gives us the focus on the here and now, the things we can control or influence, and a path to peace, and joy. Someone well smarter than me said it, I just thought it was a good frame of reference, and useful if the day starts out SHITTY.

@gelhaargerald - agree, the next morning is like getting to put a new quarter in the pinball machine of life, you get to play again.
