We don’t ship them with loctite as it’s ambidextrous by design and it’s adjustable for cant. We really need to put a little card inside the packaging though. It’s a common issue for folks that don’t inherently know to do it.
I’ve been rocking leather too long and forgot haha. And no I’m not a boomer.

Feel like this trigger is heavy. I love snubbies. Have a Model 12, 19, 637, and a Colt Detective Special. The Tropic’s trigger weight is heavier. Idk if others have experienced this? It’s a performance center, do I have it smithed?

I wouldn’t. The trigger on the Tropical is one of our favorite factory triggers out there. If your trigger isn’t significantly nicer than a factory 19 or 637 then you either need to make sure it’s properly lubricated or you may need to send it back to the Performance Center.

Which Night Guard is your favorite?
I have the 396. I don't have the 386 in hand.. yet. I do have one of the OG 386s, the Mountain Lite version, not the NG version.

I originally was only going to get the 386, however I grabbed a 69 (the stainless L frame 3" 5 shot 44 mag) which made me go HMMM I need both. I'm quite enjoying the 396. I am figuring once I get the 386 in hand I'll use it a pile more than the 396. I'd say for the average revolver fan the 386 is the easy choice. 44 special really pushes into degeneracy.

It's easy enough to swap a mainspring. A 2lb lighter can help, however you need to be cautious about going too light. The same caution needs to be exercised with the trigger return spring. A smith who knows how to give these guns a look over can do an action job on it and drop the weight a pound or two without changing the springs.

I carry the 4” 69 regularly and carried it a lot more when I was living out west. I love bigger bore stuff. Don’t let anyone shame you into thinking you’re a degenerate carrying a flying ashtray. Just know you’re loved in this forum.

My biggest concern is he might have a faulty gun from the factory. If he sends it to get smithed, it could void factory warranties. A proper FE Tropical has a very good trigger out of the box.

I absolutely understand the concern. Sending it back to the mothership is likely the best choice. I am about a professional warranty voider. The VP of lispeys is very amused I had the new 396 for a day and had frame stripped it, bobbed the hammer, etc. 😅

I have no shame carrying a 44spl. The issue is the ammo. I am not set up to load and I can shoot 38/357 for half the cost vs 44spl. I have been and am carrying it. I had it on at the Superbowl party @Ryan Horst hosted Sunday. The 396 plus a 5 Star DC loader plus a Quickstrip in my back pocket. If I needed more than 15 rounds of 44spl at Ryan's house... well we'd have gotten rifles out already.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Doesn’t look the Tropical is +p rated, even though it says +p on the barrel. Super Vel factory ammo.
Are those your pictures? All current Js are the mag window size frame. The steel guns like the FE Tropical should handle the pressure of a 357 no problem even though the cylinder isn't cut for it. The damage very much looks to be from a significantly overcharged round.
