Sea sickness remedies

What’s your best advice to prevent sea sickness? And if it can’t be prevented, how are you dealing with it?

I told guests to take Dramamine or Bonine a couple hours before our whale watching tours. Seen lots of people take peppermint or ginger chews. Others use the prescribed patches behind the ear. Some people used those pressure point wristbands(not sure if those really work or not). Make sure you’re outside getting fresh air. Strong Bloody Mary’s as well.

Honestly it varies from person to person.

Can confirm: stiff drinks work well. Unless you’re working, Dramamine typically does the trick.

I use scopolamine patches and they have been great for me because I normally have bad motion sickness. It’s a small patch that goes behind your ear and is good for a few days. It’s a prescription but you can easily get them from an online travel doctor, which is what I do. I’ve used Dramamine in the past but like the patches better.

I went on a quest for a solution after spending a whole day struggling in bean bag out of Venice LA telling my buddies that if I died it would be ok because I was so sick. Scopolamine patches are where it’s at. Dramamine makes me really tired and if I try to have a beer or something it’s bed time immediately. Those patches last for a few days too so it’s put one on and forget about it on a tuna trip or something.

From what I have observed, freebasing it is definitely not an option...

Gravol got me over my initial sea sickness hunting brant on the ocean. After a few trips never needed it again.

Some guys put duct tape over the belly buttons. Don't ask but heard it works too

I put duct tape over my belly button all the time, but not for sea sickness....
