What do yall use for adapting traditional optics to an iPhone? Looking for solutions that preferably don’t require a separate case.

Or are their digital scope options that you like?

Thus far, I’ve found this as a potential solution.

Mountain Mag

I use mag view. I like it so far and I’ve found that looking through the spotting scope with your phone allows you to spot for longer when it starts to get dark. I think the phone auto brightens the image or some other wizard stuff. It was too dark to tell what the doe was in the attached picture until i put my phone on the spotting scope. She was about 450-500 yards away when i took that picture.

I use a vortex razor spotting scope and an iPhone 15(i think) it has a magnet that attaches to the back of my case (it’s not a special case just a magnet with a sticky side).

I used to use MagView but the app won't work with my iPhone 17. I'm trying to find something else but I love MagView's low profile and ease of use.

MagView as well. The larger phones seem to have a bit of trouble with the MagView as they slip. I run mine when bench rest shooting .22lr irons at 100/200yard to track my shots and can get a clear enough image at 200 yards to see the holes also really run to watch a slow ass subsonic 22 lob in like artillery to a 200 yard impact.

Adapting my phone to either a spotting scope or binoculars (mounted on a tripod) I've had good luck with the VE0 PA-65 Digi scoping adaptor mfg'd by Vanguard... cheap and seems to work pretty well. When I want/need the pics to look amazing I'll sometimes use two tripods, one for the spotter and one for the phone.

I have the Revic Optics (the Gunwerks in-house optics brand) SA-80a spotting scope, I run an Ollin brand phone scope adapter. The system works well. The magnets are strong and hold my phone vertically or horizontally quite well. The phone is an iPhone 14 Pro Max. If you want to run the spotter by looking thru the eyepiece, one nice thing about the Ollin adapter is it's a tool less set up for application or removal.

Using the Ollin currently, like you i wish it didn't require swapping cases for field use, and it's been acting up sometimes trying to use horizontal so looking for other options myself.

Believe the Ollin requires swapping the case which I’m trying to avoid.

Pretty tied into the Quad Lock ecosystem.
I use Ollin. Their case is rubberized, protecting all four edges and the back. The bottom, wired input, charging port is uncovered so, stuff can get in there. I have the wireless phone charger in my truck. I have found the Ollin spotting scope, magnetic interface at the phone lenses apparantly sticks out enough to sometimes prevent proper seating and charging. I can move the phone around on the charging pad and get it to make proper contact and charge but you have to keep an eye on it. I have since put my phone back into my regular Pelican phone case protector - only because I'm not digiscoping everyday.

The guides we just hunted with recently in Central California all had Ollin cases and they kept them on.

In fact, now that I think of it... My guide took a picture of me and my pig. The sun had gone down so the flash went off - inside the Ollin case, i.e. the flash was ineffective. My guide recognized it was an Ollin case issue and he simply removed the case, because he knew how / not that it's difficult, and proceeded with taking pictures. Popped the case back on when we were done.
