Great review..... Not gonna lie, I have never even heard of these... It is nice to see high liners like you guys using something other than a LP's...... Do you guys pull dredges with them as well?So here is a quick review… We have switched our Daytime Swordfish reels from LP to these new Kobo reels… We are about a year in and I can’t say enough good things about out there performance… Drag adjusts while “fighting” the fish so that the reel doesn’t constantly fight itself and has been really good in rough conditions with variable drag not pulling hooks… Line retrieval rate is smoking fast and they run on both 12 and 24 volts… Made in USA and developer has spent a lot of time perfecting prior to launch… I think we have caught around 75-100 swordfish on ours and are very impressed… We are not sponsored by them and get nothing out of sharing this other than seeing a great business grow… And for the “why are you using electric reels crowd”, we have hand cranked well over 1000 swordfish and the electric reels are only really necessary when we fish high current areas like Miami, as we are fishing 12 pounds of lead in 2-5 knots of current, hand cranking is impossible…
We use them for dredge fishing in the states where we have full time crew and they are great! Fast and smaller profile… I still use an LP for dredge fishing on my Cabo boat because I don’t have a full time crew and don’t feel like reinventing the wheel every day someone new hops on to fish with me…Great review..... Not gonna lie, I have never even heard of these... It is nice to see high liners like you guys using something other than a LP's...... Do you guys pull dredges with them as well?
