Has anyone made a master class series on everything shooting?

From safety fundamentals, the basics, long range shooting, CQB, hunting, EDC, concealed carry, firearm maintenance, etc.. etc..

Is this something that we should create at Field Ethos?

Yes, kind of. Back in the day [15 yrs ago] you could go to the NRA education website and pick from the large variety of classes with a very competent listing of the where/when/how much. As an Instructor therein you got the standardized NRA books, paperworks, etc, from the Instructors' perspectives. We Instructors were taught by mostly woodsman who were also VietNam and Korean War vets, you always got some extra salty stories in your classroom/range times, excellent pointers.

Are you meaning a video series, or .....? Short answer, either way; Yes, with the BUT caveat of wow what a time sucker PITA.

Today, there is so much mis/disinformation on the 'net it's damn near imperative that there's an actual/factual perspective out there too. I see a greater interest just in our FE S "Intro" forums, from guys who are just buying their first pistol/rifle/shotgun, it's great to see.

I wouldn't say a master class (because they didn't have hunting) but some buddies and I took a couple trips to The Site (former Blackwater North) in central IL. Started with the intro pistol/carbine course and progressed. They have a long range school as well as a shoot house. We focused on pistol/carbine but the guys at long range school the last time we were there were suitably impressed at the progression of their skills over the course.1773680572601.jpeg

Oh HELL yes, is that still around the Mt. Morris area? Forgot all about those guys...
It's been a couple years since we've been there so I honestly don't know. It was an easy trip from southern WI for us. Then kids' club soccer, baseball etc consumed our time. I miss those professional ranges with moving steel plates, car ambush drills etc. It's hard to do that at our deer camp/farm, rural WI neighbors aren't used to a couple thousand rounds a weekend. 😁

Holy smokes dude, looks like you smoked a lord of the rings creature in your avatar! How much that baby weight about? We' in J'vegas, Rock County. Let's wake up the neighbors!

Yup, they're still open, Mt Carroll. Man it's been almost 20 years. Kinda looks like Erik *might* have taken it back into the active fold?

I feel like I missed the context of all this but these photos are awesome.
Context = Avatar comment = Ugly hyena pics = Thread hijacking

My apologies to Wiley.

The Site had (almost) a little bit of everything in the masterclass catalog of shooting. They just needed to add "Intro to being a PH" and "Gun Maintenance" courses.

I would pay for that. Sounds like a good time.

Yeah I was thinking video series, something we could actually produce here at FE - give it a modern day flare.

This is the last book we published at DSI, and is in essence the total package... give or take LR or ELR.

The contents of this book is what we taught in courses for years at DSI, and is a portion of what I teach today at Gringo Strategic.

If anyone wants copies of the book, I'm happy to help you acquire them.

Yes, and please. Spiral bound? Oh yeah.....Oversized print for those born in the 1900s?
Can't do much for the font size, but... ~360 pages at standard (12 pt?) font, with periodic pictures and diagrams.

If there's interest, I guess let's give this a couple days for people to weigh in and we'll facilitate some distribution.
