My preferred adventure rigs are older Land Rovers, they just can't be beat (but you will have to work for it). I don't see too many others here in the US.
My two:
1998 Land Rover Defender 110" County Station Wagon (300 TDi diesel) Right-Hand Drive
1969 Land Rover series 2a 109" Carawagon Deluxe camper (289 V8 petrol) Right-Hand Drive

I also have an entire room library of Land Rover expedition books, mostly travelogues, safari photo albums, hunting journals, etc from the 1950s-present all where the trip took place in a Land Rover.

I have an 04 discovery, a 68 109 and a 67 88. I drove the 109 sight unseen from West Virginia to North Dakota. Only breakdown was a flat tire on the interstate that got hairy.
