Something tells me I’ve probably upset several office people after they asked about the FE stickers on my water bottle and I’ve told them to check FE out. We’re 3 quarters through another wild year, and odds are you’ve got at least one story that fits right into the Field Ethos playbook. Let’s hear it. What’s the most Field Ethos thing you’ve done this year? Bonus points for photos, scars, or arrest records.
This was my favorite adventure of my career so far.overland self driving the namib desert was pretty tough to beat with a couple of ineos grenadiers Ron Dan and Jason Vincent.

You win.I went on an expedition deep into the Amazon rain forest. I spent some time with some indigenous tribes some of which are just now being "civilized" Hand lining piraña, got a warrior tattoo from the chief after trading stories with his warriors and passing the bullet ant ceremony. Hunted with the tribe, and given a jaguar tooth necklace. Saw a lunar eclipse while floating on the river, provided some much needed medical care and even got to baptize a villager in the Amazon river.
Made a pivot; found my first Magnum about 25 years ago, a Browning Eclipse M-1000 with BOSS, in 300WM. Dad shamed me, too big for whitetails, not a Rem. 700, blah blah, too loud. Dad's dead. Pivot to long guns I want for safaris, and beyond; Lipsey's Rugers in 35W and .375 Ruger. The K98 Sporter 8 x 57 arrived the other day and it's gorgeous. We are Relics of a Spirit and Glory and Power and Joy of God, fucking embrace it and laugh at the haters. Drive on, keep moving, keep doing.
