Looking to buy a new utility SXS, but rest assured my cheap ass aint' payin' 35K for a Polaris NorthStar. But I've noticed a new brand called CF Moto for quite a bit less. I believe they are made in China. I do know one friend that has one, and he's happy with it but he's only had it for a couple months. Anyone got any goods?

If you dont care about having an enclosure with heat and air, I would strongly recommend the Honda Pioneer 1000. Mine has been absolutely problem free at 4500 miles.IMG_0909.jpeg

My buddy got a CF Moto ATV. He's a cheap asshole who usually buys used shit, and complains about everything. But he bought the ATV new and has nothing but good things to say about it. Considering getting one myself as the dealer is close to my house.

My cousin works on small engines and UTVs, and highly recommends CF Moto (he doesn't sell them, so he's got no incentive to recommend them). I just bought a brand new one and they are awesome. Great price, great quality. Do it!

Great stuff. thanks for the input. I have heard of that honda... and that its shaft drive system is better than belt driven like all the others... And I've yet to hear anything shitty about the CF Moto.. although we'll have to see in 10 more years...

No matter what you pick, think about dealer network and support, parts availability, aftermarket support (trust me you’ll get the bug to customize it) and resale value. Message me if you want. I’ve dove down this rabbit hole researching various side by side’s recently when I bought mine.

I have a uforce 1000 xl. Love it. Did replace a few parts ($1000 or so) to help ride smoother, but for the money it is one to consider for sure.

Can-Am
Went down this rabbit hole after Dad died in '22, lifelong Polaris family as one of his friends was a Dealer. Little brother got all the toys, so I went Polaris shopping. Yup, a little sticker shock there as Dad had always just bought from Jeff, had a whole fleet for decades. The standard "options" on Can Am blew me away; 3 levels of power steering assist, engine braking, and engine power modes, at your fingertips. The shift linkage swap is all that's needed ($35 part), really, maybe install some Fox shocks later....this is just a base model quad, but an 850 L-Twin?! Wtfbh is Polaris doing? IDK, don't need to know, I'm familiar with the Ducati-based L-twins to know what I like.

Back in the day the range pop-ups at Fort lost in the woods were Ivan and Mao dolls with little red stars on their helmets. Still will not purposefully give $$$ to China. YMMV....

Also in the market, as well. It seems like they all have their little perks and selling points. I think CanAm is probably the nicest. CF Moto is the cheapest of the averages. Everyone selling UTVs likes to shit on CF Moto and everyone buying them likes to speak how great they are.

I agree, and only having had our CanAm quad for a year, am not the best judge. However, I came out of a multi-generational GM factory that was shut down, half our production stuff went to Asia......but it's in the CanAm motors and dealer network for me. No judging here against the Dad who has kids and a budget scenario I'm past. Ride on!

I'm kinda late to this thread... CF Moto isn't necessarily what I would call a new brand. I don't have a SXS but I do run a CF Moto 500 quad around the farm doing farm chores, plowing snow, and hunting in the wilderness, etc. I love it and their customer service has been terrific.. I've not had any mechanical issues other than stuff I broke because I was getting crazy but they've promptly shipped me replacement parts.. love it. I only run non ethanol fuel through it and all my small engines and boat motors... I've taken it and the kiddos back in the wilderness on 30 mile excursions/campouts and it's always gotten us there and back. I've had mine for about 7 years and it's still going strong. I literally use it every week in some capacity.

Sundles' review of CF vs. Can-Am.....https://youtu.be/_ny-8LHgMWI?si=dXrfCZOErF4ypoKn

On the tail of it; it's a Corporate write off; $32K + $8 to outfit for safaris, and their favorite [it appears] is a 5 yr old Can Am....Not sure what the price diff is on Africa prices vs. America...Drive on!

We looked into the CF Moto for our family of 6 and I ended up buying a used 2020 Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT. Two bench seats with six sets of buckles but the rear bench folds down to create a larger bed. Perfect for hunting/working and also just cruising around. Top speed is 45mph which some may see as a downfall but it is enough for where I ride. Also, I have not found anything this Mule won’t run through. It had 500 hours on it and came with a wench. $15k. If it was stolen tomorrow I would buy another one.

Pictures of the "wench" please.

Well she’s yellow and black and has a real nice cable. lol

You have to love talk to text. The greatest lesson here would be to proofread before hitting post. Thanks for the laugh. *winch
Not all wenches are created equal, some are constantly making a horrible sound with the least amount of stress, are a disappointment no matter how much $ you spend on them, and some still make you do all the pushing when they should be helping with the pulling 😁
